The following interactive exercises are adaptations of some of the 33 exercises in “Writing for Emotional Balance.” They will give you a sample of concepts in the book and how different exercises bring them to life.

These four exercises give you a flavor of the variety and activity level of the exercises in “Writing for Emotional Balance.” The exercises are even more interesting in the setting of the text discussions of emotional problems, emotional regulation and uses of journals and writing. But even a sample can remind you that your emotional life is a world you can explore and work with, and not just a tangle of confusing reactions.
